Atentamente.

Do Not Use Bolivian Journeys.
They are in a word, nothing less than crooks.
Their guides are not certified. They carry absolutely zero safety equipment. They do not have any 4X4 vehicles. They do not hire drivers, or cooks. Your guide will cook and drive you. Everything on their website is a lie.
They charge 3X as much as any other company and deliver much less.
After we complained to the owner, Marco Soria, about the shoddy quality, he threatened to slander us and has been sending us harassing e-mails every time we post anything negative about him on the web.

bolivian Journeys BEWARE
I used Bolivian Journeys in Lapaz three times this April and I want to warn people abou tsome bad experiences with them-
Their guide, Eloy, has left us alone most of the time on approaches, to find our own way, even though in cases, the way was not obvious.
It is hard to trust them. They charged us $280 each for the Condoriri climb, and it was supposed to be for just the two of us, yet when they picked us up in the morning, there was another girl there for the climb.
She was charged 250. She was a beginner, yet they took her on Condoriri, which is a AD or D climb!!!
On Ililmani, it was supposed to be a 4 day climb, yet the guide told us on day two that we should make it a 3 day climb so we can go and have a dinner in the village, no doubt so he can get a tip from them.
They insisted that we go to Sajama, saying that the conditions were excellent, yet I talked to atwo climbers that just came back and they sais it was impenetrable, 1 meter of fresh snow, couldn{t really get anywhere.
If you are used to guides in the US or Europe, where they tell you frankly if conditions are dangerous, then Bolovian Journeys are a world apart. They will tell you anything to get your business, even though they know well that the trip will not be succesful.
Stay Away. Don't Get involved with this shady operator.

We did their 5 days trek and climb of the Huayna Potosi with Bolivian Journeys starting july 9, 2008.
They had nothing for lunch, poor breakfast and dinner. We lost the guide on the second because he was not waiting for anybody. They made us pay every nights for the campsite and refuges. Probably my worst experience in Bolivia. The claims on their website are lies, they don't have any private drivers, they made us wait for a taxi for the return.
We also had to fight with the porters to have our backpack carried as stated when we paid. They finally accepted to carry half of our stock.
This agency is overpriced for what they offers.

I totally agree with beware of Bolivian Journeys. I have climbed before with many other companies in several different South American companies and this company is the worst I have ever seen. The first day they took me out was run down, the tie rods were going out and every bump in the road the car went sideways. Then I was suppose to have an english speaking guide and was stuck with a person who only spoke Spanish. Then when I asked for another day of acclimation from being from a place almost sea level, he said I did not need the extra day. While in route also the first day of acclimation hike he called me and tried to make changes in program. Then the porter took of on me on the trail head walked at a normal pace as if I had been at 4400 meters all my life. There was also a water problem which I tried to work out with the Porter yet with onlyu so much spanish I knew there was complications even in that.
Then on a climb Illimani his guide wakes up at almost four at high camp and ask if I am wanting to climb that day. With a 7 hour summit time this would have put us on the summit at 11:00am. Then I am told that we are spending the night at a porter house and his family. I give the guide $100bs for the cost, which I find out later was never given to him. The guide gets drunk in the night, gets in an family problem and tries to drive off late at night leaving me there in the middle of nowhere.
Then I go back that Sautday and Marco does not applogize the doors are shut at his office and no oine is there. He then writes me an email trying to basiclly lie his way out of everything. He has never once applogized for his guides action and what I went through on my trip.
